Uses of the internet
- Blogs are web logs that are updated on a regular basis. Blogs are very quick and easy to update or add new posts. They are also simple to set up. However, whatever you publish is available for everyone to see. Furthermore, they are biased and time consuming
- Wiki are collaborative sites that allow users to communicate from around the world. They are able to add, edit and delete content posted by other users. A wiki can be protected with a password so you don’t have to worry about the public viewing it. Since the wiki is web based, if you can’t get to the web, you can’t access the wiki, and therefore, you can’t access the work. There are many types of wikis to choose from. Some of these can be confusing as to how to install it and back it up.
-Social networking sites is a website where individuals can set up an online profile, describing their interests, and add links to other profiles. You can share your feelings. It also makes it a lot easier to keep in touch with family and friends and it is also a good way to make new friends. Cyber bullying can be a problem as people can take advantage of the fact that there is no one who can effectively stop the bullying when it happens. It can also be a waste of time as people can visit a site to check one thing and end up spending the whole day 'behind the screen'.
